OUTREACH
8th Grade Conservation Tour
Students in Logan and McIntosh Counties are invited to an ECO ED Tour where students learn about trees, wetlands/wildlife, water quality / watersheds, soils, and rangelands with hands on fun in the outdoors. The students are given a pre-test and post-test to test their knowledge and to help us improve the camp. The day ends with a picnic lunch. The Logan County SCD hosts this camp at the Beaver Lake State Park near Burnstad.
Keep ND Clean Poster Contest
Each year, Keep North Dakota Clean (KNDC) holds a poster contest for all students in Grades 1-8 in the state. The goal is to educate future generations on our duty to be responsible with our natural resources.

Logan County SCD Arboretum
The Logan County SCD has installed a Memorial Arboretum directly east of the Napoleon Public School Playground. The Arboretum hosts a variety of trees and shrubs. Wildflowers and grasses will also be incorporated. The purpose of this project is to be used for study, display/beautification, and preservation. Also located in this area is a cemented walkway, benches, and plant/tree identification labels.
There are many rewarding ways to contribute to the arboretum's development. You can make a gift that will be a lasting tribute in honor or in memory of friends or a loved one with a tree, shrub, groups of herbaceous plants, or benches. Each item will have a plaque that notes the donor and common and scientific name of that species. Click here for donation forms.
